IGoogle would be your internet HomePage – what you go to when you first log in AND it can be customized making it very very useful. IGoogle has gadgets and widgets.

My IGoogle as feeds from Realtor.com, my Twitter and Facebook accounts, weather icons for all my clients all over the United States along with their newspaper feeds (so I know what’s going on there). I also include feeds from Seth Godin, Jeffrey Gitomer, Wall Street Journal/Real Estate, and Google Translator. It’s pretty easy to set up and customize. Many of the feeds are already geared to be on your IGoogle account with their rss feeds – will ask if you want on Igoogle or Google Reader – I like them on my Igoogle so I can breeze through them at a glance.

What you can do with you IGoogle homepage is endless. Definitely put it in your tool box!

Are you still using Internet Explorer? Have you always used Internet Explorer? Did you know there are other Internet Service Providers out there which work better than Internet Explorer?

I was using IE the first time I heard that dial up through my speakers. It was exciting that I was connecting to the internet, but it was slow and had lots of errors. I just thought it was my computer …. and always thought it was my computer.

Years later, I was still using IE …. slow and buggy and STILL getting error messages. I hated it when MSN forced me to upgrade because that meant even more bugs and even slower than the previous version. Every time I would log onto IE, it would grind away …. I would have to wait and wait and wait for the internet to start. Many times I would have to start over and over and over each time just to get onto the internet. I would turn off MSN Messenger (which they force you to have on your computer – but not really use) to have IE load. I really thought my computer was buggy …. Then I heard of other ISP’s and thought I would experiment.

A couple of years ago I downloaded Firefox from Mozilla. The program downloaded effortlessly and I was able to install without a hitch. Then for the REAL Test …. I ended my IE and double clicked my Firefox ….. POP! It was up and running. It wasn’t my computer! It was my ISP!! I also tried Chrome, but so far I like Firefox the best.

However, there are MLS’s out there and other programs which only use Internet Explorer so I have to keep that handy, but I sure like the speed and ease of Firefox.

We need a password for everything … Now that it’s the start of the New Year, I think I’ll password protect my refrigerator. If I do, I won’t write it down ….

I really get a chuckle from that Discover Card commercial, “My Name Peggy”   – “Peggy” works in a call center up in the middle of nowhere in Siberia and he’s talking to us in the United States – giving not so good service. “Peggy” shows how NOT to give service Virtually.
