Pumpkin, Pecan, and a Whole Lot of Peace of Mind

Bild a Better Business - Fall Marketing

I’d like to share a brief story with you, one that shows how a simple, well-timed gesture can transform the energy of your business and your relationships.

After a year off, a client of mine put her annual pie giveaway back on the calendar this year for the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Her goal? A sweet and sincere thank you to the clients who’ve worked with her recently and those she hopes to continue working with.

In previous years, it had been a considerable undertaking for her. She did it all herself: the invites, the ordering, the pickups. And while it was meaningful, her holidays always began with stress and ended with frazzled nerves.

This year was going to be different.

She upgraded the venue and asked me to refine the ordering system, making it feel smooth and professional.

I designed the invitation, collected pie preferences, and addressed the “missing birthdays” in her CRM that she hadn’t had time to follow up on.

As I worked in the background on her Pie Giveaway, she was still negotiating offers, prepping closings, attending her office cook-off, and navigating the year-end real estate hustle.

She didn’t need to scrap the idea. She only needed support.

She had a heartfelt plan and let someone else handle the logistics. That allowed her to show up as the generous, thoughtful agent she already is, not the burnt-out version from years past.

What this teaches us:

  • Dare to stand out. A holiday “give” with a twist, like pies, turns heads because it’s warm, unexpected, and personal.
  • Systems matter. The difference between a nice idea and a memorable experience is always in the follow-through.
  • You don’t have to do it all. Your role is to connect. The tools and templates are there to support that connection, not replace it.
  • It builds more than gratitude. These small gestures create momentum. They remind clients they’re seen, valued, and remembered.

Maybe you wanted to do a pie giveaway this year, but it slipped through the cracks. Or maybe you’re still trying to make it happen between showings, open houses, and everything else on your plate. You don’t have to do it all—and you don’t have to do it alone.

She shared the idea, and I brought it to life—building the system, the form, and the communications to make her look polished and prepared.

I work with this client on an ongoing basis, but I also jump in to help other agents to execute one-time projects that feel too big to take on solo.

Is there a “someday” project on your mind? Let’s finally make it happen.

Would You Hire You?

It’s funny how so many life lessons can be connected to the world of real estate. Who knew a dead car battery in my Subaru Outback could spark such a clear reminder of how customers want to be treated before they even meet you?

Let me take you along for the ride, assuming my car decides to cooperate this time.

For the last few days, my car wouldn’t start – a dead battery. I knew the battery was nearing the end of its life; no big deal, I thought. I ran to Costco, purchased a new battery, and popped it in; voilà. It STARTED!

The next morning, I went out to start my car, and — UGH! DEAD again! (EWWW- Foot Stomp!!) It didn’t emit a glimmer, a beep, or a buzz.
