I’m Dreaming of a Green Christmas

I'm dreaming of a green christmas

I’m Dreaming of a Green Christmas –
Do you need something else to send to your clients this time of year? No, not Holiday recipes, but items they may find interesting and useful.

Look at a few ideas I jotted below to see if any of these work for you. Please be my guest and send them to your database. Ho! Ho! Ho!! (you may not want to use the image as I use Canva Pro – let me know if you would like your own Canva Pro.)

Recycle wrapping paper

I know you can’t recycle it on the curb, but reuse it. I used to cringe when my Mom would carefully unwrap a present so she could reuse the paper …. who knew she was such an environmentalist way back then, and so what if “To Suzie” was scratched out and “To Sandy” written in? There was less in the landfill.

Purchase brown mailing paper to wrap presents in.

If you have young children, give them markers (washable?) or crayons and let ’em create to their heart’s content. Now, try to throw their little masterpieces out. I bet you’ll save them for next year or later …. like when they have children, reuse their creative wrapping paper.

OR Have you seen the paper sacks at Trader Joe’s? They have minimal TJ branding and can be used as gift bags or wrapping paper – PLUS, those bags are recyclable. WIN WIN!!

Wrap gifts in the newspaper or the comic strip section.

Those were going to be thrown in the recycling anyway.

Gift bags.

Don’t mark them; they can be used for years and years and years. Tissue paper can also be reused.

E- Christmas cards

I know you can’t string ecards on a string or display them neatly on a shelf or wall, but all those cards get tossed in the recycling dumpster anyway. Perhaps if someone really wants to keep them – save them in a particular email folder – or better yet – if it’s a photo, save the pic and turn it into a slide show.

Want a roaring fire and don’t have wood or a fireplace?

Here you go:

Sorry, I digress … but ’tis the season we really need to make sure
our indulgences do not overfill our landfills. And be sure to recycle Christmas Tree Lights!

What a lifesaver renters insurance could be!

It is heart wrenching to see the tenants in demolished apartment buildings begging for assistance, living days into weeks without power or shelter. They are asking non-profits, private citizens, and the government to help them with the bare necessities of life. Many don’t speak English or have money to go to a safer place.
However, it didn’t need to be this way for these tenants.
